He says the scale of immigration over the past decade has created serious pressures on housing, infrastructure and health care, while questioning how carefully newcomers are being screened and whether Canada is properly enforcing deportations.
Day also argues that immigration has become a political issue for the federal Liberals, saying governments have an electoral interest in attracting new Canadians in key ridings.
He also discusses the media’s treatment of Conservative leaders and the internal pressure now facing Pierre Poilievre.
