Meanwhile, a new anti-separatist group has filed a referendum application to ask Albertans if they want to remain in Canada, as citizen-initiated referendum activity continues to grow across the province.

Alberta’s government is also fast-tracking 11 school projects to keep pace with immigration-fuelled growth, and has launched the New North America Initiative — the only dedicated Canada-U.S. policy hub on the continent.
