This Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (“Policy”) describe how Juno News (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you subscribe to or interact with our publications on Substack and other platforms we operate. By providing your personal information, you agree to the practices described below.

To send you subscription and fundraising appeals, and information about supporting our work
To send you promotional or commercial offers related to our publications or partners
To send you text messages (SMS/MMS) about the above, if you have provided your phone number
To process donations, purchases, or subscriptions you make
To comply with legal and regulatory requirements
3. Legal Basis and Consent
By signing a petition, voting in a poll, subscribing, donating, or otherwise providing your personal information (such as your name, email address, phone number, and/or postal code), you expressly consent to receive communications from us and our affiliates. These communications may include news, updates, alerts, promotional offers, fundraising appeals, and opportunities to support our work or related causes.
We (or our service providers acting on our behalf) may contact you via email, text message (SMS/MMS), or other electronic means using any platform or provider we choose, including but not limited to Substack, email service providers, text messaging platforms, and any future tools or services we adopt.
You also consent to receive similar communications from our trusted partners, sponsors, and advertisers (third parties) whose products, services, or messages we believe may interest you. These partners may contact you directly by email or text message using the contact information you provided.
You may unsubscribe or opt out of receiving these communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by replying STOP to any text message. Opting out will not affect your ability to receive important non-promotional notices related to petitions or actions you have already taken.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
With trusted service providers who help us operate our communications, payment processing, or analytics systems

5. Community Guidelines
Juno News is committed to maintaining a respectful, constructive, and on-topic community environment in our comment sections and across all Juno News platforms.
Comment sections are a privilege reserved exclusively for paid subscribers. By subscribing and participating in comments, you agree to engage civilly and stay relevant to the post. You are strictly prohibited from engaging in harassment, bullying, intimidation, abuse, personal attacks, spam, off-topic rants, or any behaviour that disrupts the experience for others.
Juno News reserves the full discretion to determine what constitutes a violation of these standards. We may, at any time and without prior notice:
Remove or hide individual comments
Issue warnings
Temporarily suspend or restrict commenting privileges (temp-ban) for a period we deem appropriate
Permanently suspend commenting access
In extreme cases, terminate your subscription and account
Decisions regarding moderation, including temporary bans, are final and made solely at our discretion to protect the quality of the community for the majority of our paying subscribers.
We value our paid community members and prefer to resolve issues through warnings or short-term restrictions whenever possible, but repeated or serious violations may result in stronger action.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Withdraw consent to receive communications
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual obligations
7. Data Storage & Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure. Data may be processed or stored outside Canada by our service providers.
8. Relationship with Substack
Please note: Substack’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply to your use of our Substack publication. This Policy applies to how Juno News uses information you provide to us, while Substack’s policies cover their platform and services.
9. Refunds and Subscription Renewals
All subscriptions to Juno News are recurring and will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled by you prior to the renewal date, in accordance with Substack’s Terms of Service (or applicable payment processor policies). We (and/or our platform providers) send renewal and billing notifications in advance of each renewal to allow sufficient time for review and any desired cancellation. As subscriptions provide immediate and ongoing access to exclusive content upon payment, all fees are non-refundable except in cases required by applicable law. Requests for refunds outside of legal obligations will not be granted, as subscribers are responsible for managing their subscriptions and ensuring timely cancellation to avoid renewal charges. This policy supports the continued delivery of independent journalism and ensures predictable support for our operations.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by posting the updated version with a new effective date.
