Ontario College Under Police Investigation for OSAP Fraud

The Academy of Learning college is under police investigation after allegations of widespread academic fraud and its students receiving more than $219 million in provincial OSAP grants.

This story is hard to believe. A private Ontario college under the name Academy of Learning is currently under police investigation after a provincial investigation uncovered that student aid applications to the province at just three franchised college locations increased 500-600%, and 14,800 enrolled students at Academy of Learning locations accumulated over $219 million in provincial grants.

An FOI request from Canadian Press journalists revealed that students at the Academy of Learning were completing entire courses in a single day, final exams in six minutes, and hundreds of unique IP addresses logging into school databases with one student’s credentials.
