Liberalsâ blacklist of Convoy sympathizers shared with thousands of corporations
New federal records show the Trudeau governmentâs blacklist of Freedom Convoy sympathizers was circulated to between 1,000 and 2,000 brokerages and other firms, with no restriction on further distribution.
The blacklist was also shared with up to 50 financial institutions, industry groups and regulators, which could then distribute the information to their members.
A 2023 Inquiry of the Ministry also revealed the RCMP sent the list to Canadian agents of foreign institutions, including the Bank of China, State Bank of India, Citibank and Wells Fargo. Keep Reading
U.S. cracks down on âvisa fixersâ exploiting Canadian applicants
The U.S. Embassy is cracking down on âvisa fixersâ selling supposedly faster U.S. visa appointments to applicants in Canada, with some operators asking for access to applicantsâ accounts.
Officials say they have cancelled appointments obtained through fraud and revoked visas from people who abused the scheduling system.
The Embassy has warned applicants since 2023 that paying a third party offers no legitimate shortcut and can leave them out of pocket or with a cancelled appointment or revoked visa. Keep Reading
Poilievre demands Canada root out Iranian regime agents
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called on Canada to identify and remove willing agents of Iranâs Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps operating in Canada, arguing that the Iranian regime poses a threat to Canadians.
Poilievre pointed to concerns from the Iranian diaspora, including reports of threats and harassment against people who fled the regime. He also cited Iranâs alleged links to attacks on Canadian soil.
Poilievre said Conservatives oppose restoring diplomatic ties with the regime in Tehran and called for Canada to âkickâ willing IRGC agents out of the country. Keep Reading
