Despicable...

An abomination....

Unacceptable...

Fraudulent and Fake...

Corrupt...

... Problem ...

Recent Federal Legislation passed unanimously by ALL PARTIES has now protected the above with respect to supply management...

The result (aside from above).

High prices

Fixed prices

High waste and dumping (as per article)

THIS CANADA IS SUPPLY MANAGEMENT and ALL YOUR PARTIES APPROVE because a small handful of very powerful lobby types (mostly from Keebek and OntWeOwe) only care about two things POWER and CONTROL.

Gee... Sounds very much like the Lieberal Party of Canada doesn't it?

How did this Communist policy ever become the norm. This type of policy was used the Soviet Union which told the people what and how much of a product could be produced in any one of its states. For example, under this policy chezcosloakia, a country made for production of milk was forced to grow grain while milk production was given to another state. The system finally collapsed with the end of the cold war.

The only reason the system has not collapsed in Canada.. Two reasons actually.

The first... Canadians are, for the most part these days compliant sheep.

The big one though... This small group of self-serving farmers basically has both the Liberal and Conservative parties living in fear.

What a great shame but this is what happens when, in reality, Canada does not actually have a real Conservative Party.

The Liberals on the other hand are just corrupt, self serving, frauds and would and do sell out the Canadian Taxpayers all the time to stay in power.

}I have actually witnessed my local dairy farm dump milk and questioned the owners about it and they explained the supply management system to me which I found astonishing and extremely wasteful.

If all this milk is dumped why can’t people buy it directly from farmers as raw milk is not unsafe and pasteurization kills all the goodness. Also why isn’t the excess made into products to be sold why not incentives for that instead of sending billions to a failed war in a country that has nothing to do with Canada

Farmers except in QC are helpless. they dont make the rules. Supposedly they cannot send raw milk anywhere and they cannot keep animals on the dairy farm like pigs to feed that excess to. Rules, rules and more rules. If you are caught, you lose your licence, income and farm.

Can you imaging how much very expensive cheese that could make for the food banks alone, but why would Mr Carney back the farmers that way. Helping the poor should be an automatic tax write off

I can confirm that this practice has been going on since quotas! What does a farmer do? Send the overage and get penalized for it. They still process and sell it. You can't dial back a cows yield and then bring it back on demand. But yes, if farmers are paying a penalty, the least that that money can do is supply it to food banks etc in the form of cheese or indeed fresh milk.
