A brazen attack on the U.S. consulate in Toronto has been officially deemed a “national security incident” by the RCMP, prompting Canada’s political leaders to voice condemnation and raise serious domestic security concerns.

Toronto police received a call around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday that the U.S. Consulate building had been shot at. No injuries were reported, but property was damaged by a discharged firearm, similar to incidents involving synagogues and Iranian dissident owned businesses in the last two weeks.
