Former defence minister Peter MacKay expressed his support for regime change in Iran amid mixed messaging from the Carney government in the fallout of supreme leader Ali Khamenei’s killing last week at the hands of U.S. and Israeli forces.
Mackay made the comments while appearing as a guest on the Juno News’ Straight Up with Marc Patrone on Thursday.
“Many don’t want to, perhaps talk about it as bluntly maybe as you and I are,” said MacKay told Patrone, adding that he had the “benefit of not being in elected office” where such decisions can be more difficult.
