Judges are losing their minds! WHY would you want a criminal here? They need to be deported! Not only are refugees and immigrants not being screened properly, but when they're caught, they're given very lenient sentences? How does that make any sense? These judges need to be fired!

russell's avatar

The people who appointed these judges need fired as well!

Donald/Raelene Bell's avatar

Justin stacked the judicial system with his choice of judges. It was his last

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

Yes , Russel I could get behind that 100%.

He's no longer available.

Judges and lawyers, as well as politicians, recognize criminals, especially fraudsters, as what Lenin called a "socially allied element."

Catch and release is the #1 rule in Canada dont you know?

Brian King's avatar

The judges have likely been told by Liberal party brass ie Prime Minister to do what they do.............go easy on criminals, give them easy parole and short sentences.

J. Meyer's avatar

Deportation should have been automatic.

William Bell's avatar

Based on the article, this man is a repeat offender, indicating that he is unrepentant.. he is only sorry he got caught. My vote would be to deport him.. we don’t need more criminals in Canada

Daryl Wall's avatar

Yeah! The Liberals don’t need that kind of competition.

Mister Big's avatar

So true. Unfortunately, a liberal vote is more important

What is wrong with this judge. You have a non citizen scamming new immigrants and give him a reduced sentence so that he can qualify for citizenship in Canada is complete bulls---. This guy should be kicked out of Canada. We don't need new citizens who are criminals. This sentence must be appealed and this judge should be removed from the bench.

Mieke van Peenen's avatar

The article said he's been here since at least 2009, so not a "new" immigrant. Welcome to Canada, where criminals run free.

Louise Graham's avatar

Yes, if he is here since 2009 - not really a NEW immigrant . . question is how is he still here having a history of criminal activity and just now being charged and WHEN exactly is his citizenship application being decided? Kick his sorry rear out of our country!!

Mieke van Peenen's avatar

Canada is broken 😢

Wanda Lambert's avatar

Is this judge is one of Trudeau's appointees....I put money on that one

Louise Graham's avatar

100% agree with this comment - - the wayward Judge should be defrocked or whatever happens to those who have been entrusted with our law and order in Canada!

Irene Nadeau's avatar

Totally agree with deportation & judge needs counselling & even debenched if that’s even a word.

Brian King's avatar

How does the general public direct their anger at such situations and get these judges fired?

Randy Bailey's avatar

The lienetcy of the judge is unacceptable. This guy is a repeat offender so he should be deported. The judge should loose his job period.

Lorne Beaudette's avatar

The only justification for a reduced sentence would be to get him deported earlier. Unless he is a man of means, the financial penalty is counterintuitive. Where is he going to get the $1000.00 per month to pay the fine other than renewed criminal activity?

Mieke van Peenen's avatar

The government is probably giving him $3000/month 🙄

Franz Kafka's avatar

He will apply for a grant for the extra thousand a month.

Mieke van Peenen's avatar

Right! And get it 🤦‍♀️

Del Rokosh's avatar

We all know Layton will never pay a cent. Conlan is disgustingly naive.

Franz Kafka's avatar

What kind of name is Layton?

Randy Bailey's avatar

Because he is a repeat offender and he has been busted for the same crime countless times and the judge gave him six months for fraud. Years ago he would be facing 5 to 10 years for fraud. But not today because he's an immigrant. I say if you are against the public comment then maybe you should go back to bed. The judge should loose his job period. It's the judge who gave him a lienient sentence not the public. Take your head out of your ass.

David James's avatar

In the USA they're voted out.

CLo's avatar

Great question. I hope someone posts an answer. We’re getting to the stage where mobs with pitchforks are needed as no politician or cop is helping normal people. Only criminals and immigrants get generous treatment; the exact folks we don’t want around!

mooligan007's avatar

This country is so messed up, non citizen repearly commits fraud, 6 mth sentence, 2 citizens help organise a peaceful protest against a tyranical government face 7 and 8 yrs. Oh Canada what have you become.

CLo's avatar

Don’t forget- as an immigrant you can sexually violate minors with no repercussions as well.

Randy Bailey's avatar

Six months sentence for fraud is unacceptable for taking advantage of others. This guy should be given more than six months for his blatant disregard for the law. This judge should loose his job. Such a disgrace of the rule of law.

Murray Kummer's avatar

This dude should simply be deported, NO QUESTION!!!

Fred Carson's avatar

Why is this man not being deported immediately?

Charmaine Chartier's avatar

No standards of justice. We the Canadians people have lost trust in the system.

Murray Kummer's avatar

Like Polievre says ; The whole reason we deport these people is because WE DON'T WANT MORE CRIMINALS IN THIS COUNTRY!!!! Do we???

Tatanka's avatar

That fucked up judge needs to be dis barred or deported along with that criminal immigrant.

Mad Max's avatar

I think if some of these judges had consequences there would be less of this. I'd like to really understand why in his mind, to do what he did is really not that bad? How about he be the judge for Tamara and Chris? Using the same criteria as he did here with this dirt bag

Martina Kruger's avatar

This man is a repeat offender & he’s not even a citizen! These things work in his favour? What kind of a screwball Justice system/ Judge do we have here in Canada? You’re charged with a crime , you should be automatically deported! Yet a man trying to defend his home (a Canadian citizen), gets criminally charged for defending himself?

Daryl Wall's avatar

It’s always astonishing to me how these folks prey on their “fellow travellers.”

David James's avatar

Canada wants to replace the Right with the Rot. I think they're succeeding.

Tony Ledsham's avatar

The real issue is the hypocrisy of the judge. He is ultimately correct though, it’s up to Canada Border Protection to seek a deportation order through the court. The author highlighted how many times the judge mentioned “immigration consequences” though. The judge knows, but he’s covering himself in this very sensitive political immigration issue. Judges are not allowed to be influenced by bias, including political bias…
