Foreign interference in Canada is as Canadian as maple syrup and snow. The evidence is everywhere, should the appropriate law enforcement care to look. Unfortunately, I suspect they are also influenced. Allegedly.

Complacency is not the answer. We have to get off our ass and voice our concerns

Absolutely, but how do we get the government to sit up and pay attention, since they are completely tone-deaf and can't read a room to save their collective lives.

The govt doesn’t gaf about the rules or reading the room: they’re all in on it, incl the CPC.

Yup - it's a uni-party, except perhaps the PPC, which collects the outliers. It speaks what I want to hear, almost as if they were reading my comments... For some reason the media ignores them, dunno why... And by the way, I should have wrote it as "Canadian" "government". They are neither.

Exactly! The media is under orders. They don’t do journalism anymore, just what the PMO orders them to do.

We all saw what Elections Chinada did to Bernier. And to Poilievre. Both lost their ridings to a deeply unpopular leftwing radical candidate.

There’s no way that happened fairly. I’m no PP fan but I do expect fairness from the msm. Well, my expectations are too high I guess.

Irrelevant unless a byelection held IMMEDIATELY.

I wonder how he was persuaded. And yes, whenever a politician crosses the floor, it should automatically trigger a by-election. I would be livid if that happened in my riding.

When a citizen votes, they're voting for the party platform, and the candidate happens to be the person who should support and act according to the platform principles. If he or she can no longer support the platform, then he or she should resign, clearly state why, and run again later under the banner they can support.

This way, the candidate doesn't have a sloppy history.

MA IS A TRAITOR...

Period... End.. Full Stop...

He should be dealt with as such when the first opportunity presents itself.

Ma is a lying piece o’ dogsh-t with the protection of the regime’s Elections Chinada. Voters had better show up next time, make it too big to rig or he’ll slide right in there with Xi’s help.

Parties need to vet their candidates and scrutinize their potential conflicts. Ma has many. That said, he resigned stating he was listening to his constituents. There must be proof of this, so he should disclose them. If not, then he’s just another lying Liberal.

Jordan Peterson once said (about therapy) that “no one gets away with anything”. He probably meant people with a conscience, excluding sociopaths. Politics is a shit magnet, attracting various psychos and sociopaths. Trudeau, Fat Trudeau, Ma, Leblanc, Blair, Freeland,Singh and all the dual citizens.

Government took Meadow Lake out of that riding and put it with another predominantly conservative riding of Battlefords- Lloydminster. Another ploy by the liberals to gain a seat

Any defector is not to be trusted, no matter what his outside affiliations. We need to change the law in Canada such that you don't get to 'cross the floor' with impunity. You want to change parties? Fine, you resign your seat and run in a by-election for the party you want to represent, no ifs, ands or buts. Your constituents deserve nothing less. If I was in Mr. Ma's riding I'd be livid for having wasted my vote on a traitor.

There was a liberal running in this election too....if the people who voted for conservatives were happy with liberal policy they would have voted for that liberal candidate. Another angle would be the prized political pension....does he have insider knowledge of political interference from China to keep liberals in power even after the next election?
