I do not remember a referendum or even a parliamentary debate on the matter.
I did not think that Rule by Decree is a part of Westminister Parliametary Democracy. But perhaps London Banker and self-identified Athenian Democrat Carney can correct me if I am wrong.

Whenever unrest happens globally, I am keenly aware of the inability of any military, even an uncorrupted one, to protect the population. The numbers do not add up.

The veiled threat, announced by Diab (who, like Freeland before her, is probably prone to massive ethnic nepotism) is that mercenary, foreign troops, with 'Express' Passports and Citizenship, granted as part of a Signing Bonus, will be among those disarming Canadians who resist.
I know of no more shameful act in the history of Canada and no surer recipe for disaster than to use essentially foreign troops in a volatile and historical seizure of legal weapons, made illegal - for known and unknown political purposes.
One known fact in all this is that authoritarian dictatorships always try to have at the ready troops from ethnically diverse regions, to commit control actions against other ethnicities within the same state.

I mean we do our part as a church federation in helping locally and third world countries but I think more is needed, our government is definitely not looking after its people, (it is however taking great care of illegal asylum seekers )and this might be what speaks to most Canadians right now.
