Personally I don't think the government should be ALLOWED to ban anything without a direct vote from the people in a binding referendum on that issue alone. I can see that maybe they should be able to ban things like having a personal nuclear weapon, but I'm really talking about normal things like a car or lightbulbs. But in general I'd rather go with not being allowed to ban anything over able to ban this and that at their discretion. I don't trust their discretion in this country whereby if you get elected to a majority you can pretty much do anything unless it bumps into the Constitution, and with Covid we saw how that didn't really mean much anyway.

Considering Turdeau never once ran a campaign saying this was one of his agendas nor to allow Canadians a voice in this decision it needs to be scrapped immediately.

My father graduated in 1948 from electrical engineering. He was part of the new environmental engineers that designed and oversaw the building of hydro plants in Eastern Canada and Quebec to end the use of coal. In the early seventies we lived outside Labrador city on the Quebec side while he worked on the controversial Churchill Hydro project. He became conflicted with the project and left after a year. Throughout his life remained deeply troubled by his contribution to the destruction of wildlife habitat and displacing Indigenous people.

The hydro projects he designed were for heating homes, doing laundry, keeping the lights on. They were never designed to allow for the amount of electricity we now demand AND cars. No one seems to think of the cost of redesigning these power plants, all the cables and the impact that will have on the environment. The only sustainable form of living is diverse dependence on diverse resources.

Question: I have been winter driving in the prairies for 2 hours at (let's be nice) -30C. I get stuck in a snow bank. How long do I have to live in an electric car?

Now who is going to support the Liberal Regime's false economy of tax payer funded EV battery plants. Of course, the snake Carney, if " elected" will ensure that the ban on ICE vehicles will continue as laid out by the Regime, despite what Canadians have to say.
