Rempel Garner calls out Carney for lack of action after Alberta agreement
Michelle Rempel Garner says Albertans are proud Canadians but are increasingly frustrated with Ottawa’s failure to address issues important to the province.
Rempel Garner criticized Prime Minister Mark Carney for failing to get major energy projects moving and for not removing what she called barriers to investment, including Bills C-69 and C-48.
She also defended Alberta’s place in a united Canada and called for stronger action against foreign interference, saying the federal government has been too slow to address the issue. Keep Reading
Ontario Liberal candidate wants to win over conservatives to take on Ford
Eric Lombardi stood out during Monday night’s first Ontario Liberal leadership debate by calling for the party to reach beyond its traditional base and appeal to conservative and NDP voters. He argued that a broader political tent could help the Liberals challenge Premier Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservatives.
Lombardi said the party should stop viewing politics strictly through a left-right lens, arguing that Ontario needs pragmatic solutions that may sometimes sound right-of-centre and other times require government intervention.

Pyramid firm caught playing both sides of Canada student scheme
Juno News has uncovered a troubling connection involving an Alberta college, an Indian student recruitment company, and a director who was previously arrested as part of an investigation into alleged immigration fraud.
The college partnered with Portage College to offer programs that attracted hundreds of Indian students, while those programs were marketed in India by Pyramid eServices.
Corporate records show that two directors of the college were also connected to the recruitment company, which has itself faced scrutiny in India. Watch now
