Carney invents a new PMO job for a Hillary Clinton campaign veteran
Prime Minister Mark Carney is reportedly creating a new position in the Prime Minister’s office and granting it to Maia Johnson, who currently serves as a senior adviser to Carney on Canada–U.S. relations and was named in the WikiLeaks-published John Podesta emails as a key figure in Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
The new position was first reported by the Globe and Mail, which cited “government sources,” but the news hasn’t been confirmed by the PMO yet, and the PMO was not immediately available for comment. Keep Reading
One province created almost every new job in Canada
Alberta accounted for nearly 80 per cent of all jobs created across Canada over the last year, despite being home to only 12 per cent of the country’s total population.

RCMP charge former floor-crossing MP after U.S. investigation
RCMP charged former Manitoba MP Inky Mark with 12 firearms-related offences after an investigation originating with U.S. firearms charges against a separate 73-year-old Dauphin-area man.
Police said evidence discovered during the investigation into that individual led officers to obtain two warrants to search the residence of former floor crosser Mark in Dauphin.
