I totally agree with Catherine Kronas and Bruce Pardy.

Besides, this land acknowledgment is virtue signaling, nothing has changed, nothing will change.

If the territory has never been ceded, how come we still have "crown lands"? If the territory has never been ceded. then no governor or local government ever had the authority to grant land, which means that no government (provincial or municipal) can tax for land and land transfer. What is the value of my property deed/certificate? See where it leads when we start looking seriously at the question?

This land acknowledgment, we mean it or we don't. If we mean it, then we should expect change; if we don't mean it, then let's stop the charade.

I would like to see Mr. Pardy take on this case, in order to make it a huge issue threatening our rights and freedoms in Canada. It is likely true that many parents and other citizen adults feel that the Land Acknowledgements are silly and useless. Yes, the Indigenous peoples were here, but they came here from somewhere else, as most other Canadians did. Many of our relatives were also first to come. Therefore, everyone should uphold our freedoms, and especially our freedoms to speak -- we owe it to each other, as well as to future generations for whom we want to also value Canada's rights and freedoms. No government body has sway over those. It is time for much government overreach to stop, and allow us to enjoy our rights along with our responsibilities.

Our rights come from God; they are God-given, not a privilage granted to us by the State.

Canadians will not uphold their God given rights and that is the reason the politcans have overreached as far as they have.

The King James Bible is the Bible of the Crown. Ever bring the Bible to Court and enter the scriptures into evidence? In Court they swear on the Bible, but they never read from it. Absolute mockery.

Mrs. Kronas has courage and honesty. And courage, freedom and honesty are certainly important. But no store sells courage, freedom or honesty. So where do courage, freedom and honesty come from? Respect and love are certainly important. What makes one thing important and another thing unimportant? Look was what you believe, and at what the school council believes, and at what the people of HWDSC believe. If a 15 year old boy follows his father into the back woods to kill a deer, or a bear that is terrorizing your cows and chickens, he will learn courage. If you continue to chant, “There is no God”, then courage will leave you. So will love and honesty. Respect for diversity of opinion will eventually evaporate. So will our freedoms. We need to thinik about God and pray. Canada was founded by Christians who believed in God. May we follow in their footsteps, and grow in courage, honesty, love, and respect.

I was born here, I am Native to Canada, I am a Native Canadian! Celebrate contributions to Canada, not entitlement?

Exactly! How far back do we wind the clock to determine who is entitled to what? There needs to be a 'statute of limitations'.

Without a doubt, the colonialists that settled in Canada and took over the territory of the existing peoples, came from countries that had previously been invaded and conquered by foreigners. It's part of human history which can't be changed and needs to be accepted at some point.

There is a "statute of limitations". It is called death. What do the dead own? What do the people of 1497 own? What do the people of 1867 own? What do the people of 1905 own? Land is for the living - not the dead.

Very tiring

Last time I went to the imax in Victoria, before the show started.

an employee there had to say some land acknowledgement speech. Um billions paid in tax dollars. I would say the buck stops here (pun intended)

What would happen if I shouted, "Boo!" during the delivery of the land acknowledgement speech? Would others join in, would there be a stunned silence or would I be 'escorted' out of the IMAX?

If the natives want "land acknowledgment" they can go read their fucking Treaty; they don't need me. Did I sign their Treaty?

I was born in Canada which makes me every much as indigenous as the so called natives of today think they are.

The land that we have today is borrowed from the future generations.

back in the day, the land was borrowed from this generation. The early native Tribes own the soil of Canada? Go fuck yourselves. Land is for the living- not for your dead nor the agreements your dead had made.

The right to life and the right to the soil of Canada comes from God the creator, not the King of England nor the politcans of Canada, nor the generation from 1497, 1867, 1982, or 2025.

If the school board clowns want a land acknowledgement speech, in speech I will give the acknowledgement of my land first and the natives their land acknowledgement last.

Overall, the school board is demonstrating the reason why parents must remove their children from the public education system; corrupt beyond redemption.

We need to review the constitution. Indigenous rights were given without parliamentary debate. Trudeau Sr. gave away too many rights - we need to reverse that.

So how do we make our voices heard? What avenues do we have to publish our disagreements to coercive policy where it will be heard and encourage like-minded citizens to join the 'campaign'?

Understandably, some folks are in situations where speaking out against the "progressive narrative" may cost them their livelihoods or even their freedoms. But for those of us who feel strongly enough to speak out about these issues (regardless of the consequences), what medium of announcement is available to us?

There are a handful of contentious issues facing our country currently, where, if it were put to a binding referendum, the results would likely yield an overwhelming requirement for change from the status quo.

For example, if given the chance, what percentage of the eligible electorate would vote for change or reversal of the following government policies?

-First Nations claims to land ownership

-Former residential schools 'discoveries'

-Integration of 'Pride' agendas into schools and government inclusion policy

-Funding of 'gender affirmation' ideals within our medical system

-Installation of multiple government agencies whose only agenda is to inhibit our freedoms, at taxpayers' expense... and many more.

So why can't the silent majority let its disapproval be known?

Which "indigenous people " are they referring to?

The land has changed groups many times. For example, The Mohawk land was located in upstate New York not Quebec. So should the Mohawk get out of Quebec?

The Clovis people occupied the area around New Mexico before vanishing. What happened. Did the Sioux, Apache or Navajo wipe them out? Was it native genocide?

21, 000 year old footprints found in White Sands New Mexico. What people were these. Are they still around or were the genocide by other natives?

Native tribes engaged in genocide and slavery but sure cry a lot when they are on the losing end.

All people have experienced being conquered or have conquered. That's the way it was. Get over it.

#desertdrifter has done great youtube videos on North American tribes. The Spanish and Portuguese and disease had a lot to do with things. Many Metis are now decedents of the very People they blame. Where does it end. We are all equals now, the past is the past. No one was alive way back when. In 2025, blaming and cancelling anyone is purely virtue-signalling. In Canada, as a tax payer, your success should not require anything but your own hard work.

As a footnote, #desertdrifter aka #AndrewCross a great, and respectful document-or of original peoples and tribes on the continent was killed in an auto accident in January of this year. I highly recommend that you watch and review the achievements of those who came before us. They resemble nothing of the current situation. Where do we lay the blame for the past. Where do we lay the blame for the future? #equalopportunity

Good point Bill,

The majority has been silenced by overbearing Governments. We, the people, have no say. There should be a referendum in the next election so the voice of Canadians can be heard. I am so tired of the Governments WOKE agenda but for some reason, Canadians just keep voting in WOKE Prime Ministers.

Let's look at what we voted for last election.

1. No control of drugs, no new rehabilitation programs, no tough repercussions for illegal drug sales, first nations selling at will.

2. Continue with the Catch and Release judicial system to put killers, drug dealers and rapist back on the streets. Continue to put criminal rights ahead of the rights of law abiding citizens.

3. No new prisons being built, just continue with hugs, not penalties.

4. No health care improvements. Canadians should not have to go to the United States for serious Health Care. Our Health Care is terrible. Lots of Canadians don't even have doctors.

5. WOKE in our schools. Our education system promoting children to discover their gender. Nonsense, just undress and look in the mirror. Kids have enough confusion in their life, they certainly don't need this added to their stress. Boys think they are girls, girls thing they are cats, girls and boys using litter boxes. Come on folks, how did we ever get this far out in left field?

6. No military investment. Just keep riding on the shirt tales of the US.

7. A Government that thinks they need to take our guns but leave the gangs alone. Absolutely crazy.

Let's look at Hitlers famous statement.

((((To take over a nation, you must first disarm it's citizens.))))

OK, that's enough. I need to get to work so my tax dollars can go towards more government waste and bureaucracy.

Thanks,

Rocky.

If you dabble in religion, and go directly to the source, we all came from Adam and Eve, we are all Brothers and Sisters, who was here first in North America, did they come up from South America, did they come down from the Northern Passage, was there a race of people before the Indigenous, we do not know for sure, and without any other confirmed proof of occupation, how can we define entitlement, all humans have an equal claim to this planet.
