Yes, the RCMP allows Sikh members to wear turbans as part of their uniform, a change made in 1990 after a long-standing debate and advocacy from Baltej Singh Dhillon, the first Mountie to wear a turban.

Baltej Singh Dhillon (born 1966) is a Canadian politician and former police officer who was the first Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer to be allowed to wear a turban. He was appointed to the Canadian Senate by Liberal prime minister Justin Trudeau on February 7, 2025.

In Manitoba an appeal court ordered that helmets are required for everyone who drives a motorcycle except Sikhs wearing whatever it is they wear on their heads. I assume the reason was some supposed protection of a religion as the charter allows. Same goes for religious weapons.

Bang on James..with many Canadians freaking about a 2-tier healthcare system, when the real issue we shoulda been more concerned about is a 2-tier legal system..and here we are. We ALSO have a 2-tier Federal media system..the Legacy media..(CBC..CTV) funded buy the Feds..and the much more unbiased Independent media..(True North..Juno..etc) that ask the questions the big boys don't wanna hear..so they are ignored/ shunned/ and outright illegally BANNED from all public speaking engagements the Libs hold. that's not very democratic of them now..is it??

This just unreal! They come here to escape their problems from where they left. And then they expect we should convert to beliefs, the very bs that caused their problems. When you migrat to another country you similate to it's customs. That's always been no matter where you go. If not don't bother coming here. Keep you bs beliefs to yourselves.

So if a street is full of fighting between Sikhs and Hindi Indians or any other kind of group police should not intervene in any way unless they have taken a what-Sikhs-are-all-about program? Get real. Police should know if a law is being broken and act accordingly. They should not be burden by some idiotic nonsense they might learn: never arrest somebody with your left-hand (the shyt hand), never shout at someone or any other bizarre foreign or religious actions.
