All airlines need to stop this BS and think more about passenger safety and whom, whatever race, gender etc. is the best person for the job! People are getting sick and tired of this woke agenda and DEI crap!

I agree wholeheartedly. I have NO issue with whatever gender, color or educated the persons are AS LONG AS THEY ARE FULLY QUALIFIED which SHOULD take precident not who they are or proport to be!

Unless this policy changes, neither myself or my husband will ever fly again. Oh, and we can afford to. We want the pilot and all crew to be the BEST, and it appears more and more each day that this is not happening. Passengers should be their #1 priority, getting them all safe and sound from take off to landing. You can thank the Liberal Federal Government for this insanity. Anyone listening?

Encouraging DEI policies in aviation is going to equate to DIE . I want the best people in those jobs not people that are there to fill quotas!

This one more reason why I never fly with a canadian airline. It's getting so I wouldn't trust the ability of the pilots. Now I will for sure never fly a canadian airline.

I guess I’ll have to check US airlines when I travel. Not interested in airlines that put issues I don’t even agree with ahead of safety and competence.

Shrinking room in airplane seats. Ugly security lineups at airports. Now DEI in positions that demand merit. This has to end.

I just want someone who can fly the darn plane. If they are competent then that should be the only qualification required.

Well its only fitting that they also have all female passengers.....give us a choice....i will fly with the best qualified pilots and crew and lets see how many passengers line up for the DEI crew.....let the market place decide.....afterall, its their lives at stake.

If on every spot of advertising for its airline business, WestJet attached a red flag stating ''warning: WestJet subscribes to DEI propaganda'' and other such necessary warnings, then I might be indifferent to WestJet and its DEI activities. But in the absence of public notice that pilots have been chosen by the colour of their skin or their stance on Middle Eastern conflict I think they should have any licences they need to carry on revoked.

How sad this DEI bs is...think about it....you need heart surgery, and the surgeon is a person of colour, Indiginous, or has a disability....BUT THEY WERE BOTOM OF THEIR CLASS at university!!! Is that the person you want to do your surgery, or take on your law suit, or teach your kids????? Do your research and see how the Nazis used this in Germany, and look what happened there.....

I can not believe how far this misconception that DEI can replace a merit based hiring practice!!

Would you not want the best possible pilots in the cockpit of a flying machine that is transporting a very important passenger?? Law suite city here we come!!!!!!!!!!!
