WE should be looking after CANADIANS FIRST then we can supply aid to those in need if we have the cash to do so.

MC looks after himself like JT did and if there are any crumbs left then we get a little.

1. Income taxes are temporary, circa 1914 —WW1

2. All taxes are an investment in Canada, circa — 1968, Trudeau

3. Taxes are a way of life…

Time for change way past due….

Minimize government bureaucracy, let’s eliminate hundreds of billions annually, on an ongoing basis.

follow the National Citizen's Coalition, and the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, both great sources for evidence of our incompetent government and their spending....

We are being taxed to death and the money is being used to silence and oppress us. This is not a free country anymore.

That must be a joke headline. Taxes in Canadahar are a bamboozlement - and have been for decades - to pay for the pet projects of the ideologues, deviants, and crazies (all grifters) who have glad-handed their way to the parliamentary trough - usually for life.

Everything else is on We the Pimple. We even pay for our own persecution at the hands of the dishonorable Justice system which is as unbiased and independent of state control as the CBC is.

Man the life-boats, or the barricades. There are no other choices unless you are already zombiefied.

George Orwell said it best: "All tyrannies rule by fraud and force. Once the fraud is exposed, they rule by force alone."

I would put the onus on the governments. No more immigration until everyone here already has a family doctor. Government wants more people to shoulder their spendaholic habits.

susan gerbes's avatar

how about a return to previous immigration guidelines?......a father comes to Canada and cannot bring his family over until he has a job and accommodation!! Worked for thousands or more in the 1950s when my dad came to Canada with $10 in his pocket, and $100 sewn into the lining of his coat....and he made a great life without squeezing the government for a penny

The Left (whoever they actually are) like to talk about de-colonialism. The primary purpose of Colonialism is "Plunder". Taxes are a very efficient form of plunder.

The issue is that when everyone puts $100 in a pot, it is a very big pot. Whoever gets to decide how that pot of money is used, has a lot of power, and can easily divert that $ to thier pet projects / people. However, the question of what benefit actually comes from that money becomes very foggy. Additionally, every sociopathic individual in the country competes to be in charge of the pot.

The issue is not the pot itself but rather the lack of transparency & accountability. Most of the services we recieve are at the local / community level. Most of the decisions about spending are made by centralized governments that no one understands, and who deliver very little in terms of real benefit to the tax payers.

The solution is not in not paying taxes, as we still need basic services such as roads, sewers, policing, etc but rather in decentralizing our government so that the citizens are actually able to see how thier taxes are being spent. (and if you live somewhere that spends poorly you can either hold your community to account, or move somewhere else)

We are getting screwed by the Government every second. I am so sick of taxes and corrupt governments and their corrupt tactics that are bleeding Canada and Canadians dry. We don`t travel or eat out much but now more than ever they are wineing and dining on our tax dollars with all their retreats and meetings etc and flying all over the world without giving a fuck what their carbon footprint is and it has to stop time to get rid of all governments that are double and triple dipping to steal the taxpayers money

Government spending is so wasteful. Ottawa is too entrenched with spending which is why Alberta must remove itself from this parasite. A sovereign Alberta is the answer where we can more control or say in how our money is spent. Alberta going on their own is a business decision, we are not leaving Canada.

Too many bureaucrats to pay, and most of those bureaucrats don't do enough to earn their pay. The government is way too big. A great way to cut the budget would be to fire 75% of them.

Exactly! Or for so called refugees who get free health care, food and housing (education for their children) that can amount to $82,000 per year. Did you hear about the couple seeing the Quebec government because they were rejected for child care and they are temporary foreign workers?

I cannot complain about my own situation because I live on the old age pension and a tiny amount of Canada pension so I pay no income tax. But I sympathize 100% with families who have to give up half their income to get what exactly? More immigration? Worsening health services?
