Safe supply was never about helping! It was a diversion to let the caos happen, while do gooders without a clue kept it going and fought changes at every turn.

72 hours is a start to get clean but much more time in some form of treatment is needed. I would suggest that 72 years for selling drugs might be of greater benefit similar to Bucele’s super prisons in El Salvador.

Safe supply? Like giving an alcoholic a case of liquor. Come on. Pierre is right. No such thing as "Safe Supply"; they need help; not more drugs. I got the monkey (Alcohol) off my back, around 45 years ago. The only thing I can surmise with that, is they want to kill them off. It probably would be cheaper in their minds. Although I don`t think they have minds?

The effect of the LibTURD harm reduction has been like an atom bomb in all of our communities! The scourge has infected all aspects of our society. Here in B.C our community is fighting the ravages of this policy. The morons who make the decisions have dropped two shelters who are filled with addicts and mental health patients. Now they are dropping two more facilities right in the middle of our little coastal town. We are presently fighting a crime wave that has never been seen before. Daily wanton vandalism and thefts with open drug use on the streets!! This is insane. More to come. Thanks LibTURDS!

Anyone with half a brain could see in the first six months this was not what we bought into.

One has to really wonder about the placements of these facilities. What was the real initiative here? Why in Canada did it take so long for the push back and even now look at the resistance.

There is an evil experiment being played out on Canadians under the guise of good.

Get back to the basics Canada. Law and order, common sense, pride in our past and Christian heritage. It was and is a much better life for all.

Our society is addicted to quick fixes.

Harm reduction works for a very small number of people. Managed alcohol programs for very chronic alcoholics who are in late stage alcoholism. These are people who never going to be functional citizens, and for whom the goal is to let them live out their lives with some degree of dignity. So by providing them with a glass of sherry every 3 hours, you keep them from having DT's while housing them in a restricted environment where they have clear boundaries & expectations. Taking away the stress of finding the next drink allows these individuals to stabilize and in some cases actually get sober.

Essentially, applying what works for a very select group to the entire population with out the boundaries required for public safety is always going to be a disaster.

In other words, stop looking for "Magic Bullets" to fix complex problems.

The other issue is that University Research is always looking for the next thing so that they can get funding, and the Funders give grants on the basis of Ideogical Compliance. If the research does not support what the funder believes there is no next grant. In a publish or die environment that lesson is learned quickly.

For instance, when I was applying for program funding I always had to answer questions about Indigenous programing, and LGBTQ. My answer was that the population I served was by definition the most marginalized (Mentally Ill addicts lving on the street) and the population was 60% white males primarily age 45 to 55.

Funders did not like that answer because middle aged white males can't be marginalized.

Narratives are lies, as when research is Narrative based, it ignores information that does not fit the narrative.

I agree with Danielle Smith's initiative, which is proper housing for a year, which includes getting the "guests" to clean their rooms, make their meals, take care of the surroundings, job training. Meanwhile the workers get a chance to observe behaviours and tailor assistance accordingly. No drugs available. This is the intelligent use of compassion and personal responsibility.

I don't think 72 hours is going to work, but the idea is a start in the right direction.

The leading cause of drug addiction is Big Pharma and their untold accomplices; for big Pharma, Drug addiction is a multi-trillion dollar enterprize. Hospitals, Psychiatrists, Doctors, and pharmacists aside, the "safe supply" is supplied by Big Pharma. The beneficiary is Big Pharma; the losers are the taxpayers, the drug addict, and those who live in the areas of these "safe supply" zones. How can people be so God damed stupid - Daniel Smith included.

Hollywood along with music industry is full of alcoholics and drug addicts; the only difference is they can afford their booze and drugs whereas others cannot; their fans give them their money, their love and adoration ; they cannot get enough of them.

You make any thing illegal, you have given up your freedom; in the stroke of the same brush, you have just created crime and underground suppliers. You cannot legislate your way to freedom or safety; legislation is nothing but a definition of a criminal; with each new passing, a new criminal is borne; you breach the legislation - you are a criminal. Speech legislation, gun legislation, school legislation, food legislation, medical legislation, - you name it.

The question is: why does that indivdual require drugs or alcohol in the first place; you disassemble the root cause, their addiction ceases to exist.

I agree with everything you wrote. The actual cause is the profiteers in conjunction with the depopulation agenda. Unemployment is high due to government and international "agreements". The court and legal systems are demonic, making money and taking emotional energy from both victim and "criminal" alike. In fact the drug addict is simultaneously a victim and "criminal".

For now it's about "rescue" rather than dealing effectively with the industrial complex and governments that caused this situation in the first place and who are the real criminals who should be prosecuted.
