Windsor police have arrested and charged two men in connection with a sexual assault investigation that also netted a loaded firearm and suspected illicit drugs.

Two individuals, Khandon Paulo Tombura and James Tarief, were arrested and charged by police in relation to the incident. Officers responded to a residential disturbance shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Pillette Road.
“Upon arrival, officers learned that a female resident had been sexually assaulted by two men inside her apartment and was requesting their removal from the premises,” reads the WPS press release.
“Officers located one of the suspects inside a bedroom. While officers directed the man to stand, he reached toward his waistband. Officers immediately intervened, safely gaining control of the suspect and taking him into custody. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of a loaded 9mm handgun.”
Windsor police say officers learned a female resident had been sexually assaulted by two men inside her apartment and had requested they leave the premises.
A second suspect was later located and arrested without incident.
Following the arrests, officers “seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and digital scales.”
As a result of the investigation, Tombura, 29, faces numerous charges, including sexual assault, possession of a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, possession of a firearm without holding a licence, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing no authority, possession of prohibited ammunition knowing no authority, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, contravention of the Firearms Act Regulation, possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of breach of probation.
Meanwhile, Tarief, 28, “has been charged with sexual assault and possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking.”
