A 24-year-old man who was “quickly identified” as the sole suspect in a shooting in Windsor’s Via Italia neighbourhood was arrested by police for violating his bail conditions “for a second time,” while awaiting sentencing.

The Windsor Police Service released a notice to the public on Tuesday announcing they arrested Heydar Alanuz, a man who was originally charged in May 2024 after allegedly shooting a man’s vehicle and then fleeing the scene after a verbal altercation in the 700 block of Erie Street.
