Ottawa rejected seven times more Gaza student applicants than it approved under a special initiative, according to an internal Immigration Department briefing note.
Of 37 Gazan students accepted to Canadian colleges and universities, just two received study permits while 14 were refused.
“Fourteen applications have been refused while the remaining cases are in the final stages of assessment,” said the June 17 note, Canada’s Response To The Situation In Gaza.
Four applicants withdrew, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.
