Enough already! I'm Jewish and was born and grew up in Canada and always recognized it as a Christian country. We love Christmas! I sang in the choir in public school and know all the Christmas carols by heart. There was always one Hanukkah song and that was fine by me. We said Merry Christmas and we loved walking the neighbourhood at night to see everyone's Christmas lights and displays. Yes, we often went out for Chinese food and went to the movie theatre! Parents need to push back on this nonsense and erasure of Canadian culture.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Please accept my deepest apologies for the betrayal that your community must feel with these animals parading the streets in this country and the terror and threats spouted from their filthy mouths.

The government is a disgrace and the citizenry is a close second!

Canadasceptic's avatar

Thank YOU -- it means a lot. I know there are amazing, patriotic Canadians who have our backs. Having said that, I have one alternative residency and another in the works. To quote a line from one of the best movies ever (The Incredibles) -- luck favours the prepared. I'm a student of history and I've seen how this story ends.

TLF's avatar

Yes, on my desk sits a plaque on a stand that says “ Good luck is preparedness well executed”.

It was given to me by a dear friend and mentor of Jewish faith 23 years ago.

Very apropos.

I wish you didn’t have to think that way but , to me, Canada is circling the drain.

I’m working on getting my only child out, my daughter.

It would leave me alone but I don’t care.

Canadasceptic's avatar

You're a great parent! I'll be there to help my kids if/when they need it but at the moment they are not inclined to leave Canada.

Maybe you can craft a Plan B for yourself? I have helped a few friends get Mexican residency. Some countries in Central and South have retirement residencies that are fairly easy to get.

James Turner's avatar

Go you! As a kid growing up in Ottawa, I was always envious of any Jewish classmates.

You guys got Hannukah and Christmas holidays. Thanks for the support.

Canadasceptic's avatar

Hannukah is a bit overrated! As kids, we would have traded it for Christmas in a heartbeat. When my oldest daughter was around 5 or 6 she asked me one December, "Can we sign up for Christmas?" It was a funny moment for sure.

James Turner's avatar

Sometimes, out of the mouths of babes comes real wisdom. They see a thing through a child's eyes and call it exactly what it is - bright lights, sparkles, presents and fun. They have yet to see the nonsense that the adult? world will inflict on them.

I used to work in a Downtown Toronto Condo Corporation of 3 conjoined buildings in the late eighties, in the onsite management office. Some of the Board members of the building Corp were Jewish and I developed good professional friendships over the years with all members of the Board. It was there that I learned that Jewish people give THE BEST Christmas cards ever! I had no idea! It really warmed my heart to them and I learned more about Hanukkah too!

The world hates Jesus Christ. Anything that is remotely Christian is taken out of society. Parents need to remove their children from these Christ hating indoctrination centre's and bring them up in the future and admonition of the Lord.

Andrew's avatar

Yes. It was called "secularization", but it was anti-Christian. Christian was normal. In 1980 my Grade 2 Elementary class did the 3 wise men play at the "Christmas" Concert'; and nobody said anything. Grade 4 we went caroling around the neighborhood at night - the school class. It was really a European country then, and Christianity was not just a religion on Sunday, a private matter, it was normal. Given name was "Christian name" on some forms. Even if you want "old" movies of the 1980s they'll mention praying or trusting God (Die Hard, Home Alone).

Now you can see new immigrant (folks that took plane trips) having their religion celebrated publicly, because they're minorities.

Marg's avatar

And when Christ was born , lived and walked the earth in His life, the world largely hated him too! But when He returnes all sin will be erased along with all thoes who have not heeded and loved Him.

KFLY's avatar

For me it’s nothing to do with religion. It’s about the spirit of Christmas. The one time in the year where people appear to get along. Everything else is an add on.

Indeed - but here we are, "non Christians" have more rights than Christians. Crime only happens if a white or Christian person commits it. And crimes committed against white people and Christians are completely ignored by law enforcement and government. I can't wait to see the Laurentian elites squirm in the ditch when someone else takes the helm. "Minority rights" are critical to Islamists today...but once they are the majority - "minorities" will be tortured and hunted down; just look at all the Islamist countries around the planet. It is the only outcome left for Kanada.

Angela's avatar

Those are 2 places I would consider moving to. While the language would be a challenge, at least I know I'd be appreciated for what I bring to their country & it's NOT VIOLENCE, DEMANDING THAT CHANGES BE MADE TO SATISFY ME!! This is what's happening & our cowardly politicians are allowing it to our disadvantage simply because they want the votes. How sick is that? Ruin a country, likely the leaders will be killed b'cuz who they're importing do not care about OUR leaders. Do politicians actually THINK B4 THEY ACT? Doesn't sound like it.

Sherry 1's avatar

First they call you a racist, then they accuse you of Islamophobia, then they gather in one large sector of a city or town and do not assimilate, then they shut down entire streets to pray or protest, then, when there are enough of them, they elect people to office, then to higher office. EVERYONE turns out to vote. That is what is happening in Canada. That is how a Country is overtaken. From within. It is happening in real time in the UK, France, Germany, Australia, parts of the USA and Canada.

It worked when people who WANTED to work came. Lately, we have Welfare Bums and we need a way to ensure they never get in. We middle class people cannot afford to support those that will not work and contribute. So yes, currently, multiculturalism does NOT work.

One has to wonder what kind of garbage infests the bowels that make these decisions.

Hateful and disrespectful are words for these people and words that are still too very kind for them.

THIS CRAP HAS TO STOP!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!

Sam Knowles's avatar

I recently traveled through Calgary airport and onto Vancouver…. The lack of anything Christmas related at Calgary airport was stunning. Two Starbucks had some plastic greenery and one independent juice bar was gaily adorned but with those three exceptions, you would not know it was Christmas in Calgary airport. No carols, no Christmas music at all and certainly no decorations! Vancouver airport had a smattering of decor and I was happy to see a cluster of Christmas trees on display. I won’t continue to commment lest I be accused of something…

I won't tell! We need to all speak our minds. And put us all in jail. That would ruin the lieberals.

Sam Knowles's avatar

Tell that to Lucy Connolly.. nothing seems to ruin the Liberals- teflon coating on them - the jailing is inversely applied - we are in upside down and inside out times. Happy Christmas xx

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

I guess! Merry Christmas to you and all those on this board.

Feel free to comment, let the commies accuse you. Its a badge of honour to state facts. Only cowards shun the truth.

Sam Knowles's avatar

I’m not being cowardly- I am being smart. I travel through US and EU borders.

ThinkforYourself's avatar

Pretty soon, with the Liberals' new censorship bills, Canada will become like the UK where people get arrested for social media posts. So comment while you still can!

CLo's avatar

Racists and bigots run this school - it should be cutoff from ALL public money...or...all administration staff terminated immediately, for cause.

GOD keep our land, glorious and free. Oh CANADA we stand on guard for thee. Christmas is the celebration honoring the birth of GOD’s only son “JESUS CHRIST”. Over two thousand years of history. More division in this country. Respect and loving tolerance for each other in this country is mandatory. MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Kim Mischuk's avatar

Funny you should post this. I woke up this morning with the national anthem in my head. I went to the guy in Ontario waving the Canadian flag and playing the anthem and the police removed him. I think the line 'God keep our land' is offensive to the new regime taking over. We need to sing it loud and proud. Merry Christmas.

It always amazes me how DEI only includes non christians and non whites, and even more how we allow ourselves to be subjected to this discrimination

A R Chamberlain's avatar

It’s the most Divisive phrase out there!!!

Andrew's avatar

It includes a lot of white women, and some gay white men too. I actually debate it helped white women more than any other group, because of their large number vs. nonwhites. A whie man more likely lost his opportunity to a white woman than a minority.

I'd never heard of it. I found out about it here:

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=AWFL

"Cult Worship of feminist heroines (HRC, RBG, AOC)"

RBG, yes I've met that worshiper. It is a fitting description. Victoria is full of these types.

RON CASKEY's avatar

Is this Canada, if you come to Canada and become a Canadian then you adopt Canadian values and Christmas is one of them, enough of this nonsense I don't care what religion you are, celebrate but do not erase Christian celebrations in the process. WAKE UP CANADA!

KFLY's avatar

This “non signs of Christmas celebration” has infected our Canadian society now. This sick woke culture where everyone is a victim and needs to be handled with gloves is way over the top. You come to our country and assimilate or shut the f up and get over it. You don’t like it then leave.

Darryl Kurylo's avatar

Western culture is being erased!

KingGrizzly's avatar

I wish everyone I see a Merry Christmas! Offended by it? I’ll wish you a grand merry Christmas.

Kim Mischuk's avatar

Yes, I wished a young Caucasian cashier a Merry Christmas and she looked very awkward... so sad.

ThinkforYourself's avatar

This is sad. My father, in the early 1960s, was a Christian pastor in Whitby, and there was a thriving Christian congregation there. I am glad he's not alive to see this.

There are still many churches in Whitby, and according to the 2021 census, 54.3% of the population of Whitby identified as Christian, but apparently, these "educators" don't care about that. They want to push their agenda.

This is yet another example of the deliberate erasure and denigration of Christianity from Canada -- something that Trudeau Jr. seemed very much in favour of when he was in office -- during which time many churches were torched (in 2020), and Trudeau said it was "understandable".

Ideologically motivated Leftists long ago took over education and warped it to their agenda. They have a demonic caricature of Christianity in their minds, which is something of a projection because Leftism itself could be described as an idolatrous faith. In this case, they went so far that it was blatant and drew attention.

"The principal maintained the school is “committed to equity and inclusion,” ensuring that many “cultures and faith-based celebrations are acknowledged and respected.”" Yes, all except Christianity, it seems -- which is ironic given that Canada was founded on that faith.

No wonder that so many Christian parents are turning to homeschooling their kids instead. Personally, I think all education should be defunded until the Leftists are forced out of it, from kindergarten to grad school. Why should the taxpayer be forced to pay for the destruction of his own culture and desecration of his values and faith?!

Andrew's avatar

Happy Diwali. (honestly, don't know what Diwali is). Say a white boy dated one of those girls. I bet the parents would say F off. Now what about the white boys parents? Welcome? How much whites are programmed.

ThinkforYourself's avatar

I never heard of Diwali either until this article. It's from Hinduism, so from India. So basically, the faiths of immigrant cultures are celebrated, but not Christianity. This is because the "educators" are Leftists who hate Christianity and want to erase it. That is demonic.

Sherry 1's avatar

…..and they are in all the schools.

Angela's avatar

They're gradually eliminating our culture & replacing it with a foreign culture. We don't count any more because we understand corruption. The immigrants, however, are used to corruption in their own countries so will support it. WE'RE SCREWED!! Unless we get the Conservatives in power, our country is lost. And we need a MAJOR MAJORITY TO REPEAL ALL THE HORRIBLE LAWS THAT DO NOTHING FOR OUR COUNTRY BUT FEED MONEY WE DON'T HAVE TO CORRUPT COUNTRIES & PEOPLES.

Bamboo's avatar

Ontario, Quebec and the maritimes "elbows up" voters have literally allowed the corrupt to the core Liberals to destroy Canada...They had better get used to living in poverty after Alberta and SK leave confederation and gain independance from the disgusting corrupt, now third world sh it hole of Canada...The day after Alberta and SK leave confederation is the day that Canada will be bankrupt.....

Unless parents and others pushback on stupidity like this, it will continue.
