At Charlie Kirk’s memorial in the United States, President Donald Trump took a moment to recognize Calgary, Alberta, for holding a massive vigil in the wake of Kirk’s assassination.
“In Calgary Canada, thousands gathered at city hall to sing the American national anthem and raised up posters of Charlie Kirk,” Trump told the crowd—pronouncing Calgary correctly, a detail that drew notice from Canadians watching the memorial.
The Calgary vigil drew thousands to city hall, where mourners prayed, sang, and paid tribute to Kirk’s life and work.
Juno News was on location broadcasting the emotional moments live, capturing a city rallying in solidarity with Kirk’s family, friends, and movement.
Keean Bexte, who reported from the vigil, reacted to Trump’s comments on social media:
The recognition from Trump underscores how far Kirk’s influence stretched beyond American borders.
yes I watched the Memorial and heard President Trump mention the Calgary event. What is so interesting is that my brother who lives in Edmonton deliberately checked MSM to see if anything had been posted regarding Calgary and Edmonton events. THere was nothing. I said imagine how much more you are not hearing about in Canada!!!
Albert doing the right thing, the respectful thing.
Ottawa bowing to terrorists.
Sickening.
