WATCH: Trudeau long gone, but free speech still under attack?
Juno News host Alexander Brown is joined law professor Bruce Pardy to discuss why free speech is still very much under threat with Mark Carney as Prime Minister
In the latest episode of ‘Not “Sorry”’ on Juno News, host Alexander Brown, Director of the National Citizens Coalition, delivers an impactful conversation on the persistent threats of wokeism, institutional progressivism, and the relentless pursuit of power and control that fuels governmental overreach.
Brown is joined by renowned law professor, Bruce Pardy, a leading voice against these trends. Pardy is a professor of law at Queen’s University, executive director of Rights Probe, and a senior fellow with both the Fraser Institute and the Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI). He’s gained prominence as a critic of legal progressivism and the managerial state, and was a key figure calling out the irrationality and rights violations during Canada’s COVID-19 response.
Pardy explains his concerns: in Canada, legal equality has morphed into equity, where laws treat people differently to achieve group outcomes, eroding the rule of law and creating a hierarchy of rights based on identity rather than individual merit, fostering division, by design.

Pardy expresses alarm at how Carney’s past rhetoric foreshadowed the Emergencies Act invocation and now ties into broader concerns about figures like Carney influencing policy, potentially leading to politically motivated prosecutions under new laws.
The core of the episode dives into Bill C-9, the Combatting Hate Act, introduced in September 2025 to amend the Criminal Code on hate propaganda, hate crimes, and access to religious or cultural places.
As a free speech advocate, Pardy outlines the primary risks: the bill lowers the threshold for what constitutes “hatred,” is open entirely to subjective interpretation, and could expand policing of online and public discourse, potentially criminalizing protests or dissent.
This episode is another must-watch for anyone concerned about Canada’s trajectory toward greater state control and diminished freedoms. Subscribe to Juno News, where Brown and guests like Pardy refuse to apologize for speaking truth to managed decline.

We are regressing back to 1600’s England where the upper class ruled the law without censure. They & their cronies were above the law & anyone who came up against them suffered greatly. Unfortunately, not many people are looking back at history & choose to ignore, denounce or rewrite it to fit their own narrative. It is a truly frightening time for Canadians.
Incredible and scary discussion.
In the end all of this government bureaucratic control will fail. Marxism and socialism is failing rapidly and their WEF reset and build back better will met with violence from the very people they are trying to uplift.
Common sense prevails backed up by the Golden Rule, Treat others as you would like others to treat you.
