WATCH: Mark Carney's war on freedom of speech
'Straight Up' host Marc Patrone is joined by Canadian Constitution Foundation Litigation Director Christine Van Geyn to discuss Mark Carney's anti-free speech agenda
“The purpose of C-9 (Combatting Hate Act) is plain: to generate more charges, more prosecutions, and more convictions for unwanted speech.” - Christine Van Geyn
In this episode of ‘Straight Up,’ veteran broadcaster Marc Patrone is joined by Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF) Litigation Director Christine Van Geyn to break down very serious concerns with Mark Carney’s expanding censorship agenda.
Van Geyn explains the potential overreach and abuses of Bill C-9, the ‘Combatting Hate Act,’ comparing the bill to what we’ve seen in the United Kingdom with people being prosecuted and jailed for non-violent social media posts.
Is this what Carney has in mind for Canada?
Why is it that these Liberals keep moving forward with deeply illiberal legislation that infringes on personal freedoms?
If you value the ability to speak your mind, this is an episode of ‘Straight Up’ that you don’t want to miss!

This is typical Liberal methodology. Gag your enemies and say that you are protecting free speech. If they get away with it...revolt.
Taking away free speech, or at least making it less free, is like their programs, laws, to prevent gun ownership. An unarmed, vocally docile population is easy to control.
