Mark Carney has been Prime Minister of Canada for over 6 months, elected on a promise that he is the right man to get a good deal with US President Donald Trump.
But have Canadians seen any positive results? Trump has in fact ADDED tariffs to Canada since Carney’s election.
The PM has been left trying to argue that Canada actually still has the best deal with the Americans. To add insult to injury, Carney actually dropped tariffs on the US - despite the Liberals’ constant ‘elbows up’ shouts during the campaign.
Now, Carney is headed to meet with Trump tomorrow in Washington, D.C. What results can Canadians expect to come out of the meeting? Or will we just hear more nice words from Carney - with nothing substantive to show from the trip?
