Patients require compassion and expert medical care. I would not use the word activists for them since they are speaking correctly as well as they are able and are willing to engage in civil friendly debate when asked. I am an old Medical Doctor long retired (Vascular Surgeon) who feels society has been let down by the Medical Profession. IMHO even those Doctors caring for these individuals with good intensions did not look or could not find Physicians to engage in civil debate. Gender dysphoria is a medical/psychiatric disease and therefore the Medical Profession should take charge of the situation. IMHO that has not happened and there has not been an open medical debate. The worst example was the Clark Institute at U of T my Medical School. Thousands of minors have been harmed primarily I believe, in the United States. It is difficult to get accurate information. Some Physicians suggest it is the worst medical disaster since cerebral lobotomies to treat Psychiatric disease. I am aware of the rare cases of genetic abnormalities when an infant seems to be sexually female at birth is noted later in life to have some abnormalities and are discovered to have an abnormal "Y" or additional Y or X chromosomes.
