WATCH: Carney coming home from DC empty-handed? + Freedom Convoy organizers sentenced
'Straight Up' host Marc Patrone is joined by Canadian businesswoman Jocelyn Bamford to discuss Carney's big meeting with Donald Trump today and whether Canadians can expect any actual results
In today’s episode of ‘Straight Up’ with veteran broadcaster Marc Patrone, we first break down the sentencing verdicts for Freedom Convoy organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber.
Lich and Barber were thankfully spared time in prison, with the judge handing down house arrest instead (much to the chagrin of Ontario Crown prosecutors who demanded upwards of 8 years behind bars). But what does it say when organizers of a peaceful protest against the government are put through the legal ringer for YEARS - all while Hamas supporting extremists block our streets and violent repeat offenders are seemingly released with a slap on the wrist?
Next, Marc is joined by Jocelyn Bamford, founder of the Coalition of Concerned Manufacturers and Businesses of Ontario, to discuss Mark Carney’s meeting today with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Is Carney - who bragged of his negotiating skills - coming home with much-needed tariff relief for Canadian workers? Or does Carney’s entire trip amount to nothing more than a nice lunch at the White House?
Lastly, Patrone and Bamford discuss Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s constant performative outrage - all while ignoring the problems with his own government.
All this and more on today’s episode of ‘Straight Up.’
