WATCH: Canada a laughingstock?
In the latest episode of 'Not "Sorry"', host Alexander Brown is joined by Dr. Shawn Whatley to discuss Canada's growing reputation as a laughingstock on critical issues that demand urgent fixes
In the latest episode of Not ‘Sorry’ on Juno News, hosted by NCC Director Alexander Brown, the spotlight turns to Canada’s growing reputation as a laughingstock on critical issues that demand urgent fixes.
Building on Tuesday’s episode, a takedown of the Liberals’ nostalgic toast to their 2015 election victory, Brown dives into how performative gestures and policy inaction are fuelling ridicule and real suffering for Canadians. Canada’s land acknowledgments are even now the target of mockery on the Joe Rogan Podcast.
During a recent episode, Rogan and fellow comedian Andrew Schulz lampooned these “forced” rituals, highlighting how they’ve become a symbol of empty virtue-signalling that’s slid into absurdity – yet in Canada, we’re now seeing that years of land acknowledgements can lead to private property rights coming under threat.

Brown argues this performative culture distracts from the real demands of Canadians, who are calling for tangible policy changes and cultural reform. A key focus remains immigration, where a majority of Canadians remain firm in their view that levels are too high.
To unpack this continued cultural crisis – where, as Brown puts it, “no one harms Canada quite like Canada” – the episode features Dr. Shawn Whatley, a leading conservative thought leader, physician, author, podcaster, and former president of both the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) and Civitas.
As a Senior Munk Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and contributor to Project Ontario, Whatley brings deep, relatable insights into policy, politics, and broader societal issues.

If I may , I would like to make 3 points
1. No other major PNG producing country in the world has enacted laws intended to destroy the primary industry of one of the Provinces and major contributors to the prosperity of the country
2. Emissions and GHG have gone up n/w/s these laws
3. No other country has deliberately undermined their own Sovereignty by giving decision making power to under 5 % of the population who wandered the country prior to the arrival of Europeans (NONE)
All of this has had the intended consequence coupled with mass non diverse unskilled immigration to destabilize the social systems of Canada and destroy its economy
Carney appears to be just as bad or worse
With the LibTURDs running our country for a decade they are successfully destroying our country! Yes we are a laughing stock! If it wasn’t our once great country that is collapsing I would be laughing, instead I’m crying! No future no hope for youth or our seniors! Instead they focus on Internet censorship!!! WTF! The only reason they are doing this is because they are scared because of the PEOPLE are WAKING UP!!!
