Fresh off the Alberta government’s bold announcement of expanded trucking regulations and a continued safety blitz on Friday, Dreeshen joins Brown to unpack the province’s sweeping crackdown on bad actors in the trucking sector. The minister details how Alberta is ramping up enforcement to target unsafe commercial driver training schools and rogue carriers. Key measures include intensified inspections, rigorous audits, and targeted investigations aimed at rooting out fraud, misclassification schemes, “Drivers Inc.” employee exploitation practices, and so-called “chameleon carriers” that evade accountability by rebranding.
So far, the province has shuttered five substandard driver training schools and pulled 13 trucking companies off the roads for violations like poor safety records, faulty equipment, and improper employee records. Given the nature of Canada’s immigration crisis, more closures are anticipated as investigations continue, with the goal of elevating Alberta’s standards toward national Red Seal certification for commercial drivers.
Brown presses Dreeshen on the broader implications: Will these changes impact provinces such as British Columbia and Ontario, where trucking scams are particularly prevalent? Will Canada’s two official languages be better represented on the roads among drivers struggling with basic language proficiency and road signs?

On April 6, 2018, 15 people were killed and 13 were injured when a northbound coach bus struck a westbound semi-trailer truck that blew through a stop sign near Armley, Saskatchewan, Canada. The driver of the truck had failed to yield at a flashing stop sign at the intersection of Saskatchewan Highways 35 and 335 while driving at a speed of approximately 100 km/h (62 mph). Most of the deceased and injured were players from the Humboldt Broncos, a junior ice hockey team from Humboldt, Saskatchewan, which plays in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).The truck driver who caused the deadly Humboldt Broncos bus crash has applied to have his permanent resident status returned. The Immigration and Refugee Board issued a deportation order in May for Jaskirat Singh Sidhu and his permanent resident status was revoked.

In 1999/2000 BC news agencies did the story about Drivers Licences being sold to the wealthy Hong Kong Chinese who had fled Hong Kong in 1997, after HK was given back to communist China by Britain.
Richmond BC Licencing employees were selling legal drivers licences to the HK Chinese for $5000 dollars without testing. Chinese employees and Chinese drivers.
Big news back then although we who lived in BC knew that these new Chinese drivers were causing the majority of the accidents and deaths.
Time passes and we find that East Indians are pulling a similar scam with Truck Driving licences throughout North America resulting in the deaths of our citizens.
We always talk about immigrants integration but it doesn't always work as predicted. In fact some religions/cultures form communities and do not integrate at all except for the purpose of credentials and welfare. In the past this line of thinking was called racisms although it was true.
Unfortunately government bureaucrats and silly servants at all levels can be bribed and it appears that we do not have the leadership to face facts. Good for Alberta.
