Voters in the Alberta riding of Battle River—Crowfoot are casting their ballots today in a high-profile federal byelection that will likely see Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre return to the House of Commons. Results are expected tonight.
The byelection was triggered after Conservative MP Damien Kurek resigned in May to clear the way for Poilievre’s run. Kurek, who secured 82.8 per cent of the vote in April’s general election, said his decision was about ensuring strong Conservative leadership in Ottawa.
