U.S. to impose 10 per cent tariffs on Canada over "forced labour” concerns

“The failure of our most important trading partners to address the importation of goods made with forced labor is unacceptable," said Ambassador Jamieson Greer.

The United States has invoked a provision of its Trade Act to impose 10 per cent tariffs following an investigation into forced labour practices.

In a report released by the White House, Canada, Mexico, Taiwan and the United Kingdom were among the countries and territories facing additional tariffs.
