The Canada-United States-Mexico-Agreement is likely to remain in place after negotiations, according to the U.S. government. However, there will be separate arrangements for both Canada and Mexico.
“Our baseline is that things have to be changed,” U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told reporters at an event in Washington on Tuesday, adding that the core tenets of the trade pact are likely to continue as there are “a bunch of load-bearing pillars” that work well.
