Source: Adamson. Phoenix Shield, a 45-year-old student previously known as David Williston, was accused of sexual misconduct at the University of Windsor. An internal investigation substantiated these accusations.

A University of Windsor investigation found that 45-year-old male student, David Williston, who uses the trans name Phoenix Shield, engaged in sexual misconduct with a younger adult student, yet faced only minimal consequences.

The 27-year-old victim blames “identity politics optics” for the university’s decision to only issue a minor reprimand, a “no-contact order” and an “education session” to the accused after alleging that he was “incapacitated and unable to provide consent” during a sexual encounter. Shield has not been charged with any Criminal Code offences and claims the encounter was consensual.

The investigation also refused to weigh in on allegations that the accused “only disclosed their HIV-positive status” after unprotected sex, as it was a Criminal Code matter.
