UNCOVERED: Top BC Conservative staffer has hidden record of radical NDP, Trans, UNDRIP trolling
The Director of Communications for the BC Conservative Caucus has an extensive record of promoting radical gender and decolonization causes and campaigning for NDP figures.
The Director of Communications for the BC Conservative Caucus has an extensive record of promoting radical gender and decolonization causes, campaigning for NDP figures, and celebrating controversial legislation such as UNDRIP, newly surfaced screenshots reveal.
Juno News has obtained a collection of screenshots from Ryan Painter’s personal accounts — many of which are no longer publicly accessible and may have been deleted.
Painter’s newly blue-washed social media raises questions about the Conservative caucus’ vetting process, and whether leadership knowingly installed a socialist within their ranks, or just weren’t aware of his past behaviour.
Painter, who currently manages communications for the BC Conservative Caucus, previously described himself as an “NDP lifer” and posted comments directed at BC Conservative leader John Rustad, while also calling Conservative MP Aaron Gunn a “clueless knob.”
He actively campaigned for Jagmeet Singh and other New Democrat politicians.
In one image, Painter is seen embracing Singh at a rally.
Other posts show him supporting NDP executive elections and cheering on party candidates across the province.
Painter also posted divisive comments about race.
“This isn’t a time or space for white folks to be taking up debate time,” he wrote.
On policy, Painter repeatedly aligned himself with progressive activists.
“Was honoured to address @UBCIC today. A #BCNDP gov’t will adopt #UNDRIP & implement the #TRC recommendations,” he declared in one post.
The legislation has been widely criticized by conservatives for undermining Canadian sovereignty and private property rights.
Painter also directed fire at British Columbia’s energy sector.
“LNG is bad economics. Do you know what would be a good investment? Renewables. There, I said it,” he wrote in 2016.
He went further, calling resource projects “pipe dreams.”
“We need a gov’t that invests in communities, not #LNG/#KinderMorgan pipe dreams. Time for a #bcndp gov’t,” Painter said.
Both Painter and the Conservative Caucus could not be reached for comment, despite repeated attempts.
Painter’s record extends beyond energy and sovereignty issues.
He posted in support of the SOGI curriculum in schools and took credit for organizing counter-protests against parents who opposed it.
He dismissed critics of SOGI as a “very fringe group” while celebrating demonstrations that shut down parental meetings.
Juno News reached out to the BC Conservative Party and Caucus for comment.
We asked about Painter’s role and whether the party was aware of his history before his appointment.
The party refused to answer.
Painter’s position as the caucus’ communications director gives him direct control over messaging for the Conservative team in Victoria and makes him among the party’s most senior staff.
His resurfaced record of NDP loyalty, anti-resource activism, and progressive rhetoric highlights a sharp contradiction within the BC Conservatives.
The BC Cons had better tighten up their operation if they ever hope to unseat the unspeakable NDP. Talk about a fox in the henhouse.
No shock from me. Ryan Painter once saw me post something pro-life and whined at me in my DMs about it because he truly believes in abortion up until birth.
