UNCOVERED: Alberta college directors tied to Indian firm that recruited its students
Two CIOT directors are tied to Pyramid eServices, which marketed Portage College programs in India and whose director was arrested during a 2013 immigration fraud investigation in Punjab.
Juno News has uncovered that the Canadian Institute of Osteopathic Therapy (CIOT) in Calgary, the private college that partnered with Portage College to deliver diplomas to hundreds of Indian students, has two directors tied to Pyramid eServices, a Punjabi recruitment firm whose director was arrested during a 2013 police investigation into alleged student immigration fraud.
The same firm, Pyramid eServices, marketed the Portage-branded programs in India. Some students who completed those programs have since had previously approved Post-Graduation Work Permits cancelled by the federal government.
Pyramid eServices director Bhavnoor Singh Bedi was arrested during a 2013 police raid and was named in a separate cheating case registered against the company in 2017.
