U.S. president Donald Trump issued a blunt warning to Ottawa this week, accusing Prime Minister Mark Carney of prioritizing Beijing over Canada’s own security interests.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed Canada opposed the construction of a proposed “Golden Dome” missile defence system over Greenland, despite its potential to protect North America.
He also claimed Canada voted instead to deepen business ties with China, which he warned would “eat them up within the first year.”
