Sounds as if Trump just did Poilievre a favour.

Fighting tariffs with tariffs is childish. One negotiates face to face. The conservatives have lowered the debate with liberals to “Trump” and increased the chances of Carney winning an election. Conservatives should have stayed silent on tariffs.

I agree except a lot of Canadians approach this in the same immature manner. The Conservatives have little choice but to appear tough to ensure this faction of the vote does not go to the transnational, WEF end of Canada Carney crowd.

Trump is winning and Canada is splitting itself into fragments. Frankly, as an Albertan, I'm ready to be the 51st state while Ontario and Quebec can kiss my @ss. As we see the Liberals gaining ground AGAIN, we realize that Canadians east of Saskatchewan are okay with living in a dictatorship. I'm not.

Don't you think that what is happening is out of our control. WTF can Ontarians do? I am not a fan of Doug Ford, Red Tory. I did my PART! I VOTED in the ELECTION no one wanted except Doug Ford! It is NOT the PEOPLE'S fault, the ELECTED have their heads up their A$$E$$. I am not premiere, Im am a person like you. Its easy to point fingers. Look at BC that's a disaster. This is LIBERAL NDP DOING. How can you fight the rotting corruption. You in Alberta have a few skeltons in your NDP LIBERAL Closets, remember Rachael NOTELY or Naheed Kurban Nenshi or what about Jyoti Gondek? Stop. I hate being in this situation, Quebec should be ousted, so sick of this $HIT pitting one PROVINCE against the other. We are all cogs in the WHEEL!

Candice, I like your approach but I think something important is being missed with Trump. Fentanyl IS an issue and news about Vancouver being a hub for it is an issue. It is not about how much is being caught at the border from Canada but how much is actually getting through to the US, with our government's complicity. I think Trump knows more about that. Trump's "announcements" are not about the surface matters however. What is he really doing? Fighting the covid19 psychological operation with RFK Jr., corruption in "law enforcement" with Gabbard etc. So Trump is addressing the globalists behind all 3 of our national parties and Ford for that matter. None of them are seeking to expose the Covid19 lies and massive response failure. Danielle Smith is the obvious stand out and she clearly has Trump's ear because of what she has been doing, not just what she has been saying. The CBC's attacks on her have been unrelenting. Fighting Trump at the surface level is futile and foolish but those influenced by the globalists have no other option since they would have to backtrack a long ways and give up on all their progress.

I do listen to CBC radio perhaps just to be aware of what they are lying about now or trying to distract us from; it is propaganda for the globalist strategy.

I truly wish Poilievre had taken a different stance. One of seeing Trump’s concerns and agreeing with their importance. He had an opportunity to collectively bury Trudeau’s liberals with Trump’s help. There has never been a more despised Canadian world wide than our little boy. It’s an incredible feat to be that hated. All Poilievre had to do was be the opposite of Trudeau and not make the USA a common enemy for Canada. THEY, AND TRUMP ARE NOT!!!!

Who would you rather share a border with????? CHINA, RUSSIA, MEXICO???

I agree, unfortunately a lot of Canadians would see this as being weak, and prefer disrespecting national anthems and booing national icons, rather than a professional, reasonable approach.

Trump is only revealing what we have known all along. Pierte is just a Liberal-lite with no vision for what Canada could be. Trump would not be dumping on Canada if we were not governed like a banana republic.

From his first announcement of tariffs against Canada, Trump has been clear that this is a punitive action designed to get Canada to attend to illegal migrants, especially identified terrorists, crossing the border into the US. Canadian politicians (all stripes) immediately hauled out the shopworn hysteria over trade wars. Except for a cursory announcement about some money and manpower devoted to unspecified efforts to clean up the border, trade war fear mongering still dominates. This is a misdirection play.

If conservative media wants to make a real contribution, get your heads out of the talk of tariff wars and ask this: How did 1,150 scumbags on the terror watch list who crossed over (US count) get INTO Canada in the first place? Same for the loads of CCP manufactured drugs that crossed with them. This is the real story. The fact that all parties have bought into the diversion stinks.

Pierre Pollievre is his own man and will do an excellent job of governing Canada. President Trump is doing a super human job of saving the USA from the destructive Marxist forces of the past several years and he will end up saving western civilization and Canada along with it. President Trump knew what he was doing with his comments about Pollievre, nothing he does is unplanned, as the past whirlwind of a month of keeping promises has proven.

I think that might be a good thing. The Liberals can't say Poillievre is like Trump. Hopefully, that would force the Liberals to defend their record. I mean, Poillievre might lose a few disgruntled PPC voters who think he's too milquetoast to begin with.

I don’t agree with President Trump on this one, especially considering the alternatives. However, given the current mindset of a lot of Canadians, which I believe is why Poilievre is being so combative, this should help the Conservatives, so I am thankful.

Trump's response is all about him - "Pierre doesn't like me", "Pierre isn't a MAGA guy" - of course he's not a MAGA guy! His goal shouldn't be to make America great - it should be to make Canada great! And he has laid out a ton of plans and policies to do that - including being willing to work together with the US to make us both stronger!

Maybe people will see that he isn't another Trump.
