The U.S. government will now refer to Lake Ontario as “Lake America” after Trump signed documents ordering the renaming on Thursday, as Canada retaliates in the escalating trade war with the U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration.

The White House released a map on Thursday showing the U.S.’s new name for the Great Lake that borders New York and Ontario.

Trump also signed documents and told reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday about the Great Lakes’ new apparent moniker.
