Senior Trump administration officials met with the 13 premiers of Canada’s provinces and territories Wednesday, telling them they won’t back down on making Canada the 51st state.
Not at liberty to discuss who they met with….BULL. Doug Ford has positioned himself as the defacto leader but Daniel Smith emerged as the most talented diplomat. Step aside Doug.
By the way he runs his country vs. how we do, I'd have no problem with that. What sane person doesn't want a leader that cares and fights for his country ?!?
Trump's idea that Canada should be "the 51st state", whether uttered seriously or in jest, should not be flippantly rejected out of hand, as Doug Ford and others have done recently. Rather, it should serve as a call for a stronger alliance between the two Western nations. This alliance would serve to protect Canada from the very real danger of continued incursions by Communist China (the CCP).
As readers of True North and Epoch Times will know, under Trudeau, the CCP was allowed to interfere in Canadian elections and infiltrate numerous institutions, including Canada's military, government, education system, and not least, legacy media. As a result of the economic attrition and cultural divisions inflamed by Trudeau, Canada is vulnerable. Canada's military is weak and its culture is divided. The CCP knows this.
Right now, Canada is need of American help to protect its Arctic borders from incursion from Russian and Chinese takeover. The CCP's openly stated ambition for world domination has taken many forms of foreign policy and trade, including the Belt and Trade Initiative, mining projects all over the world (including several in Canada), and election interference in more than one country. The CCP's United Front Work Department has been busy spreading CCP propaganda abroad for years, behind the scenes, as a prelude to more aggressive actions yet to come.
In Canada, CCP imperialism has taken the form of buying up Canadian property, leasing Canadian mines, stationing Chinese soldiers and police stations in Canada (and , transnational repression of Chinese expats by Chinese police in major Canadian cities), interfering in our elections and compromise of politicians and government officials, espionage, intellectual property theft, illegal fentanyl imports, and influencing Canadian media to echo CCP propaganda. These are all examples of what has been termed asymmetrical warfare against the West. Canadians are upset with Trudeau, perhaps not fully realizing that powerful foreign interests control him. The Trudeau Foundation has received payments from companies linked to the CCP.
Trump is rightly concerned by China's incursions into Canada under Trudeau's watch, as all Canadians should be. The CCP wants Canada's natural resources, including Arctic oil, wood, water, minerals, and arable land. They also want to use Canada as a strategic location from which to build up military might against the USA, in the future. The CCP is a far greater threat to us than the supposed "annexation" by the USA that the CBC wants us to be worried about. China has been exploiting the weakness of our leaders, resulting in the election interference that CSIS alerted us to.
The CCP's influence unfortunately goes far beyond that, into all spheres of life: military, education, media. This is made possible by the internal weakening of our country by Leftist ideologies.
One of the arguments in favour of strengthening ties between our countries is greater military protection from China and Russia, which we certainly won't achieve as long as the Canadian military caves into woke ideology, as is currently the case. Trump argues that a stronger alliance would mean no 25 percent tariffs. It would also translate into greater economic prosperity from a common currency, fewer taxes, more investment, and more job creation. We could enjoy an end to the odious 15% sales tax and ridiculously inflated income taxes. Many states have no sales tax. California has the highest, at about 7%. Trump even floated the idea of no income taxes at all. Perhaps a stronger alliance between the two nations would translate into greater economic prosperity, making the elimination of income taxes possible.
I welcome the renewed sense of Canadian patriotism that Trump's talk of a 51st state has engendered. It is ironic that the CBC tries to exploit that patriotism to foster Trump Derangement Syndrome. The CBC's new found patriotism is disingenuous: they have tried to destroy the morale of Canadians by calling us racist and by trying to divide us with fake news like the "mass graves" and by siding with Trudeau against the truckers and by pushing medical tyranny on us. Everything the CBC has done since Trudeau was elected could be called anti-Canadian. Trudeau himself argued for "post-nationalism" but now he wants to foster nationalism to resist Trump's idea? CBC's state propaganda has pushed ideological subversion to destroy Canada for years. I notice that the CBC downplayed Trump's conditions for dropping the tariffs -- namely the greater border protection against illegals and fentanyl. Fostering an "orange man bad" narrative serves their purpose. Will Trudeau continue to use Trump's comments to falsely portray himself as Canada's defender? This is the man who betrayed and weakened Canada for nine years. We are badly in need of agencies similar to DOGE and ICE to clean up the mess.
Canada can and should emulate the USA's unique emphasis on individual rights and freedoms. The US Constitution gives its citizens freedom of speech and the right to bear arms against state tyranny. Canadians do not enjoy these rights to the same degree. There are restrictions on speech and firearm ownership in Canada that far exceed that of the US. Why is this important? In a word, the threat of government tyranny. Canada could easily become like England, where state censorship is the norm. Citizens are not allowed to be critical of the adverse effects of the mass immigration of military age men who refuse to assimilate. The crimes they commit have been overlooked by the police. Two-tier policing, which has covered up for rape gangs is a national scandal in the UK, helping to demoralize and internally destroy a once great empire. Canada is not at that stage yet, but under Trudeau we are heading in that direction. Mass immigration and hate speech laws were part of Trudeau's legacy. Something like the First and Second Amendments to the US Constitution need to be implemented in Canada. We have a Charter of Rights and Freedoms but it is weak: it has loopholes that allow the government to suspend civil rights in times of emergency. As we saw during the trucker protest, that can be abused.
The suicide of Western Europe under the globalists should serve as a warning to us to adopt a more American-style form of governance, one that better protects its citizens' basic rights. Of course, we don't have to join the USA as "the 51st state" to enjoy these rights: we have only to change our constitution to include them. We ought to be emulating the strengths of the American style of governance and divesting ourselves of things that clearly don't benefit us, including big government, DEI, excessive taxation, mass immigration, state censorship, CCP interference in our country, and excessive gun control.
President Trump has given us a gift, which is to remind us of the importance of patriotism and standing up against our enemies, both foreign and domestic. The USA is not one of those enemies, but Communist China is. We need to enter into a stronger alliance with the USA. It doesn't necessarily mean giving up national sovereignty or those things that make Canada good and unique. We can have the best of both worlds.
Canadians need to realize that if we fail to take advantage of this opportunity to reform ourselves and build a stronger alliance with the USA, the CCP will continue to incrementally encroach on us, even if Poilievre is elected as Prime Minister. And Islamists will continue to grow in strength. Canada is the proverbial boiling frog, cooked to death from its own inaction and the bad decisions of weak leaders. Talks should be set up between the Trump administration and Poilievre (once elected) to strengthen the alliance in terms favourable to both parties, in recognition of the need to protect Canada from the CCP. It's my hope that Canadians will realize the real risk facing Canada. It's not from Trump. He is our best friend in a world in which Communists, globalists, and Islamists plot the overthrow of the West, encouraged by the growth in the influence of "useful idiots" in Leftist movements.
Very well said! Our only option is that the 13 provinces and territories become numbers 51 to 64 new states. I am an Albertan and I don't really want to be under 51st state umbrella with those provinces who are so willing to throw us under the bus. In the end, I believe annexation of Canada and Mexico will happen and we become one nation whether we like it or not. I too would rather take my chances with Trump than with Trudeau's bosses.
EBy is filth and anything he says can be counted on as lies. He is just touted what he wants us to believe was said. Bunch of crap. Don't continue to spread the lies of the NDP. remember it took them 3 weeks to manipulate the numbers so they won. How effen convenient. That is all you should be reminding the people of. And canada CANNOT become the 51st state. So stop touting such nonsense. Maybe the 51 to 60 states plus 3 as the US should think very very long and hard at accepting Quebec. The province who 'uses/steals' other provinces productivity. Concentrate on Fentynal/borders......as requested. The rest if mute.

It’s just the alternate path to the NWO - it’s the way to trick all the “awake” people into believing we are winning against the one world govts
Do we have an alternative to this controlled opposition?
Anyway, nationalism is better than globalism. I'd like to re-try that.

After 9 long years, Justin is still just a part time Drama Teacher.
The Trudeau Left are the problem, the Poilievre Right are the solution!!!
I agree that our country needs new leadership and turning to a Christian moral base & family values. As a nation and as individuals.
I also have felt our Canadian culture is unique and would not want to lose that.
To be honest, I’m old enough to feel a bit of loyalty to the Queen but now that she has passed, not so much to the ‘crown’.
Ford and Eby, the shiftiest of all. I am glad all of the premieres are in this now as a seemingly united team.
I am Born and raised Canadian. I do not have alliance to a monarchy, it’s high time we let that go. It’s not helped Canada.
I am open to being a part of 63 states.
With a governmental overhaul of ALL states. Canada has been stripped of legitimacy and this is what we need!
Why is Ford the speaker for Canada???? Doug Ford is a joke

Work together, Trudeau caused this mess!
I don't put any faith in Ebay or Ford. You can bet the facts got flowered up a bit.
They don't want Ontario and Quebec!
I'm in ontario, I don't want it either, it's over run with TO and Brampton
