U.S. President Donald Trump has amplified calls for an expedited pathway for Jewish Canadians seeking to leave the country amid rising antisemitism.
Trump shared a report about the proposal with his millions of Truth Social followers Sunday as Christian lawmakers and religious leaders urged his administration to help Jewish Canadians who fear for their safety.
The National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL) has called on Trump to direct the State Department and Department of Homeland Security to establish “lawful, secure, and appropriately expedited pathways” for Jewish Canadians and their immediate families who face persecution or can demonstrate credible fears for their safety.
More than 2,000 Jewish Canadians have expressed interest in relocating to the United States, according to those advocating for the proposal.
