Trial begins for Canadian accused of spying at NATO headquarters
The Belgian federal prosecutor’s office said the suspect is accused of working on “behalf of a third country and of being a member of a criminal organization.”
A Canadian woman arrested on espionage allegations after working as an intern inside NATO’s top military headquarters will make her first appearance in a Belgian court on Tuesday to seek bail.
However, the woman had already been vetted by both the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and the RCMP before being hired to work at the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers of Europe in Mons, Belgium.
