So it's only "their" land when it already belongs to someone else? (Richmond) Unbelievable how nothing is ever their fault and always the government's responsibility. Why do they get billions and just what do they do with it???

Stewards of the land?

Stewards of the land, or how much $$ can we siphon from the taxpayers.

From the government website. It sounds like eutopia , but in reality lies, lies, and more lies.

"Since time immemorial, Indigenous Peoples have served as the stewards of the land and thus carry vital wisdom shared through traditional teachings from one generation to the next. This wisdom, rooted in deep reverence for nature and interconnectedness, offers invaluable insights into living in harmony with Mother Earth and each other."

I surmise that James Anthony Peter is a registered Indian that is living on a federal Indian Reservation, looks like he runs a dumping business with 3 lots….the federal government (2013 Liebreal’s) were aware of problems, likely threw mega dollars to the chief of the day to look the other way, or perhaps the chief may have been Mr. Peter…….really what is a $300,000. Fine going to accomplish, taxpayers will pay it ,plus the clean up……these people are looking for more money handouts, and only use the word “we care about our land, water, air” when more money is needed!!!

There seems to be so many problems on reserve land, toxic dump sites, undrinkable water and more. I just don’t understand how issues like these aren’t dealt with by both parties working together to get it done. Claiming more land before taking care of what is currently under their own jurisdiction seems unwise.

FFS, can these Indians really stand there and point fingers? It is common sense to protect your own lands! I have said many times, the Indians are not the stewards of the land and yet, here is another example to prove me right! Next we will be paying to clean up the drinking water and like so many other Indian bands across Canada, the monies spent to clean up messes like this never actually go to the clean up process. We seem to have a never ending story in Canada about one band or another having sued Canada for dirty water issues! If it wasn't for the tax payers monies, these people would be close to extinction, like the Neanderthal, the north American Indians do not have the brain function to make the next step in evolution. Proof of this is all across the worlds history, how many civilizations have ceased to exist in the past 10,000 years? Just imagine the real population of the Canadian Indian if Canada shut off the money! I personally know dozens of re-born again Indians (Claim to be, with cards), who do not associate with other Indians, do not practice the Indian traditions or culture but claim Indian status. Frauds all of them! When we cut off the money all of these frauds will quietly slink off into the background, because they don't to be recognized as an Indian anymore, lol to all of you virtue signalling frauds! If you went back 5 generations to find a Indian relative, like so many Canadians can, because men can't keep their dicks in their pants, would you really give up 80% of your heritage for 20% Indian claim? Yes, if you think you can get a free ride!
