Three people stabbed in targeted attack at the Calgary Stampede

Calgary police have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in a violent targeted stabbing attack that left three victims in the hospital. Authorities have not released a description of the suspects.

Calgary police have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in a violent targeted stabbing attack that left three victims in the hospital. Authorities have not released a description of the suspects.

The attack unfolded just after 11:00 p.m. near the Euroslide, a popular ride on the Stampede Midway.

“We are currently investigating a serious assault incident involving three victims that occurred at the Calgary Stampede,” wrote Calgary Police Service in a post to X.

“At this time, the incident is not believed to be random. The suspects remain at large.”

Officers responded to a call to find an injured man at the scene.

He was rushed to the hospital in life-threatening, but stable, condition.

Shortly thereafter, police were made aware of two additional reports of people in medical distress.

A youth was found near 17 Avenue and Macleod Trail S.E., and another man was found near Erlton Street and 27 Avenue S.W.

Both victims were found to be in serious but stable condition and taken to the hospital.

An EMS spokesperson confirmed that both the youth victim and the man had injuries of soft-tissue damage consistent with some sort of knife or sharp weapon.

The Calgary Police Service has since determined that both of those individuals were victims of the same attack at the Midway.

No arrests have been made and officials are asking the public to come forward with any information or cell phone recordings that may shed light on the attacks.

“The investigation is in the early stages. Further information will be shared as it becomes available,” wrote CPS.
