Three Montreal emergency rooms operating at over 200 per cent capacity
For the last two to three years at the Royal Victoria Hospital, the occupancy rate has been “consistently above 200 most days of the year.”
Several Montreal emergency rooms are currently operating at more than 200 per cent capacity, with the Jewish General Hospital at 283 per cent, Royal Victoria Hospital at 221 per cent, and Lakeshore General Hospital at 206 per cent as of Tuesday.
According to Quebec’s health data index, the average stretcher occupancy rate is reaching 153 per cent, and ER wait times are averaging 4.5 hours this week.
