Therapist who works with autistic children charged in alleged assaults

A Milton therapist who was supposed to be helping children with autism has instead been arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting them during therapy sessions.
The Halton Regional Police Service announced Wednesday that they arrested Muaz Sarfraz, a 25-year-old Mississauga resident and therapist at Spectacokids in Milton, on Tuesday.
Sarfraz faces six charges of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault causing bodily harm.
The announcement revealed Sarfraz is being held in custody pending his bail hearing.
“The alleged offences occurred during recent therapy sessions at the Bronte Street South location. During the investigation, police identified two victims,” police said in the report. “Both victims are children with autism who were alone with the accused at the time of the offences.”
Investigators believe there are additional victims.
