Candice Malcolm and Ginny Roth discuss the decline of the education system in Ontario, and how it happened under a so-called “conservative” government
On today’s episode of the Candice Malcolm Show, Candice discusses why she is homeschooling her young children and why she prioritizes getting them outside to play in nature.
Candice is then joined by Ginny Roth, a partner at Crestview Strategy and Pierre Poilievre’s former Director of Communications.
Ginny talks about her new op/ed in the Hub discussing the need for school choice in Ontario. According to her research, enrolment in Ontario public schools has only increased by 1.2% over the past decade, compared to a 22% increase in independent schools during that same period – despite the province offering no support to parents who make this decision.
Candice outlines the total woke takeover of education in Ontario – the poisonous gender ideology, the hateful critical race theory, the radical climate catastrophe crowd, and the perverse cultural relativism – and discusses how Canadians oppose these radical measures in schools.
Ginny adds that rigorous math and phonics lessons are also being removed from some schools, and that children are not being adequately prepared for their future.
Why has this happened? Candice asks point blank: How has this happened under a so-called “conservative” government? Ginny gives the best explanation to date about the institutional takeover by extreme activists, and the lack of political will inside the Ford government to push back.
Next, they discuss the disturbing rise in anti-Jewish hatred in Canadian schools, which is causing many Jewish families to leave Canada. When Jews are fleeing your country because of rampant, institutionalized intimidation, you know you have a real problem. Candice and Ginny discuss this problem and what can be done to combat it.
Parents could homeschool if they can’t afford the alternatives to government run schools. Years ago, my husband and I decided that I would stay home. Most of the money I could earn would go towards daycare anyways. We then decided to homeschool our children. There are lots of resources available, at least in Alberta.
So-called "conservatives" in Ontario call themselves "Progressive" Conservatives. That means authoritarian rule by a midwit who supports Ottawa Liberals and cronyism to implement policies that please nobody but his donors.
