For a little context, I lived in Quebec - Aylmer - for seven years, 2017 - 2024. Although English speaking only, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, making several good friends.
I love the French culture, the joie de vivre, the family-oriented society and many other aspects - including the music. I was embedded in the culture, as my girlfriend and her family were all native-born Quebecois. In some ways, it's not too dissimilar from the culture of my own, Scottish ancestors. As an English-only resident, I never felt unwelcome.
On the OLA, my issues have nothing to do with the stated benefits of the program, which you outline, but with the practical and very political implementation of the plan.
The myriad carve-outs, exempting Quebec from the most onerous aspects have not helped the negative connotations in English speaking Canada.
My statement that everyone in Canada is required to be bilingual is incomplete. It should read " ... required to be bilingual in order to qualify for Federal and Provincial jobs and fluently bilingual for advancement in the Civil Service." This is not a small issue, as Governments, both Federal and Provincial remain the largest single employer in Canada.
It's actually difficult to talk about this issue, as it's so divisive, and there are so many factors involved. It's far too complex to thoroughly discuss in any of these social media platforms, and far too easy to add to the divisiveness.

Carney’s biologically female daughter recently had both breasts removed as a transgender person. Reports indicate she’s been transitioning for several years - surgery was done in the UK.

The Billboard guy is right on when he talks about kids being told they were born in the wrong body - we don't celebrate it - it's a delusion, it's a mental health issue, and affirming it doesn't fix the issue! On the firearms license you can not get a PAL Possession acquisition license till you’re 18 years of age. He could have applied for a minor permit prior to age 18. There is a process that the family and the applicant have to go through to acquire one and is given usually by the chief firearms officer in the province. If there was a handgun involved, we have not been able to change registry on them for at least four years. Even if he had a license that the handgun could’ve never been transferred to him. The pictures I’ve seen show the firearms being stored legally. Someone in the family, most likely gave him the combination to the Safe.

If he had been arrested he would have been released then acquitted by reason of insanity to go and reaffend. This wasn't his first time
I heard, from a reliable source, that Jesse had been released from a psych ward about 2 weeks ago.
I also heard that the guns that had been removed from Jesse's house, by the police, were returned to the family when they requested them.
