An Ontario Catholic high school featured a Canadian surgeon as part of their mandatory Grade 11 World Religion class about the war in Gaza in what a source describes as a “biased pro-Palestine” presentation that featured the dismembered bodies of children. Dr. Yasser Khan later advocated for the release of a Gaza doctor identified by researchers as a “Hamas colonel.” Internal emails shared with Juno News shed light on how the school kept students in the dark.
In May 2024, St. Teresa of Lisieux Catholic High School in Ontario invited Canadian ophthalmologist Dr. Yasser Khan to speak to students about his experience working as a surgeon in Gaza during the war. Khan spent time in Gaza on two medical missions after the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.
